I have a lot of projects I need to focus on, and I'm finding myself a little too distracted by (read: becoming addicted to) social media. So I'm going to take a break from Instagram and Twitter. I don't know for how long, but I want to see how much I can accomplish if I'm not constantly reaching for my phone. I'll probably pop in from time to time if there's something I want to tell you, but otherwise, expect me to be scarce around here for a little while. See you on the other side! - #regrann

Here’s the thing: people in general, and writers in particular, are prone to things like lack of confidence, self doubt and imposter syndrome. When we announce our intention to be writers — or to succeed at anything, really — and especially self-published authors, there is typically no shortage of people telling us all the reasons why we won’t succeed, and we tend to internalize those negative statements and believe that they’re the truth, even if only subconsciously. . Affirmations are a powerful way to combat that negative thinking. Much like visualizing yourself performing a desired task or achieving a desired goal, affirmations can help to normalize the idea of success, build up confidence and override the negative thinking that leads to self-sabotage and self-limiting behaviors. . Inspired by a conversation that took place up in stories last week, I have a new social media challenge. Starting Wednesday, there will be ten days of prompts to share some of the things that make you YOU. The things you want friends to know, the stuff that sometimes never gets shared, what you’d want someone new in your life to understand. ⭐️ The goal isn’t just to talk about ourselves (although a lot of us DO need to release the idea that our thoughts & feelings shouldn’t take up space), but to spark a conversation among friends. We finally started our Good Boy on an anti-seizure med. Keppra supposedly won't harm his organs or interfere with his heart meds. Praying it does what it's supposed to (and nothing it's not).
